Do you dream of starting your own business but have no idea where to start?
Starting your own business can be exciting but also a little daunting at times. Whether you moonlight* your way to self-employment or throw everything you have into your start-up idea, you’ll probably come across unexpected challenges of small business ownership that you’ll need to navigate to succeed.
Networking, planning, accounting, marketing, sales, employing people and customer service…many business owners think they need to be a jack-of-all-trades to get their business off the ground.
However , here are programs and advisory services available to you that will make kicking your business off on the right foot much easier.
We’ve recently introduced our new Business Boosters program to help people like you launch and grow your business with confidence. The incubator program helps startups and early-stage companies (younger than five years) access valuable business assistance so they can achieve business success faster.
While it’s possible for business owners to go it alone, accessing an incubator can give your business the boost it needs to overcome any initial speed bumps, take your start-up to full-time and achieve a much faster momentum of success and growth.
1. Hands-on assistant from business experts.
The biggest drawcard for incubators is that they give you access to the people, advice and knowledge you need to get your product market-ready, launch your business or to boost success for an established business.
Our Business Boosters program will give you monthly, one-on-one sessions with an experienced business advisor who will help you get a clear idea on how to start, run and grow your business. They’ll also help you navigate any grants or financial assistance available to help you run your business.
2. Access low-cost office space for your business.
Renting office space can be one of the largest expenses for businesses. While it’s possible to grow your business from home, the benefits of working away from the place where you usually enjoy your downtime are many (you can read our recent blog post on working from home versus office life here).
The Business Boosters program will give you access to low-cost office space and services (including internet) and provide a creative space where you can focus solely on growing your business.
3. Learning opportunities to help you do business better.
A successful entrepreneur never stops learning. The Business Boosters program includes monthly workshops (such as our How to Manage Your Cash Flow workshop on 23 March – click here for details) that will empower you with the tools and lessons you’ll need to grow.
4. Enjoy more time to focus on what you do best.
One of the biggest lessons that we hear business owners learn is that they can’t do everything themselves. If you really want to give your business the best shot it needs to succeed, identify and work to your strengths and surround yourself with resources that will fill in the gaps. The Business Boosters program will open you up to a network of individuals who can help grow your business, as well as reception and office services that will give you more time to focus on what you do best. You might even make a few clients through the network of participants.
5. Focused time to reach your goals.
The set duration of an incubator program will force you to focus your efforts on growing the business, while mentoring and learning opportunities along the way will help you identify the direction you need to take to continue your growth following the program.
Is a business incubator right for you?
An incubator can provide a supportive environment in which you can focus on and grow your business. Like any opportunity, you need to make sure it’s the right option for you and your business.
