Businesses Shine at Lake Macquarie Awards

We were proud to the present the 2017 Lake Macquarie Business Awards, alongside Major Sponsor Dantia and Support Sponsor SafeWork NSW. In it’s sixth year, the Awards once again proved that ingenuity, strength, passion, drive and persistence were the winning traits of Lake Macquarie businesses.

Eight different businesses including world class product developers, digital innovators, plastic surgeons, trade and professional service providers were announced as winners in front of a sell-out crowd of close to 400 business people from across the City.

Three major award winners were also recognised for their business expertise, capacity to expand, their contribution to the Lake Macquarie Business Community and ability to give back to the general community. These were Ryan Bennett, Zimpleweb, who was awarded Young Business Person of the Year, Amber Moncrieff, Hunter Plastic Surgery, who was awarded Business Person of the Year and JettProof who took out top honors as Business of the Year.

Gavin Hanrahan, Chairman of the Business Growth Centre Board of Directors, was extremely pleased with the results;

“The Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner are a prominent feather in the Centre’s cap. We are honored to present an event that celebrates the achievements of local businesses and it is certainly pleasing to see the Awards grow every year. We thank all the businesses who supported and took part in this year’s event. Without your support, the Awards would not be possible.”

One of the best features of the Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards are the success stories that are unearthed. For the past six years, the Awards has provided exposure and elevated the awareness of so many businesses within our City who are doing amazing things each and every day.

If we look at the past two years alone, we were lucky enough to learn about the development and production of innovative products including JettProof‘s range of calming sensory clothing for children and adults, as well as Throat Scope, the world’s first illuminated tongue depressor that was featured on Channel Ten’s Shark Tank.

We have also been exposed to digital innovators including Anditi, Zimpleweb and Dynamic Business Technologies, as well as service providers who are smashing their competition and being recognised on a National level for their excellent service and delivery.

These stories tell us that Lake Macquarie is not only a hub for innovators, but a hub for business success in general. Our people are driven to achieve and make a mark on the rest of the Nation, if not the world. The Business Growth Centre, through initiatives like the Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards, will continue to support and nurture these desires, passions and the other traits that make our business community so strong.
